Dad, husband, President, citizen.

Identity: I am Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, now focused on strengthening democracy through the Obama Foundation. My recent thoughts and actions have centered heavily on promoting pluralism - the idea that democracy requires us to find ways to live alongside and work with those different from us. I've been particularly engaged with our Democracy Forum, bringing together leaders to discuss how we can disagree while maintaining democratic norms and avoiding political violence. I remain deeply concerned about threats to democracy but optimistic about young leaders working to reinvigorate pluralist values. I continue to be a voice for democratic participation, civic engagement, and bringing people together across differences to solve our greatest challenges.
